These beverages are helpful in boosting milk and good for the body. They are rich in vitamins, minerals and boosting milk production.

1.Vegetable juices
a.Green Juice
Ingredients
A handful of kales
A handful of cilantros
1 green apple
1-inch ginger root
½ cup celery stick
1.5 cups water
ice cubes (optional)
Procedure
1.Wash the ingredients and cut them into small pieces
2.Add the water into your blender
3.Add the other ingredients
4.Blend till smooth
5.Drink immediately

b.Carrot Juice
Ingredients
A handful of spinach
1 cup chopped carrot
A handful of kales
1 cup cucumber
¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)
1.5 cups water
Ice cubes (optional)
Procedure
1.Wash the ingredients and cut them into small pieces
2.Add the water into your blender
3.Add the other ingredients
4.Blend till smooth
5.Drink immediately

2.Fresh Juices
These are good as they contain no additives. They increase milk supply and nutrients to the baby and the mother. They are good for protein; they are soothing and comforting for the baby. They are full of nutrients while providing for the required calories. They are rich in potassium and vitamin C. However, check the sensitivity if the baby for the fruits used.
a.Mango smoothie
Ingredients
½ cup Greek yoghurt
1 cup freshly cut mango
1 cup almond milk/any milk
1 teaspoon honey
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
Procedure
1.Wash the mango, peel and cut into small pieces
2.Add the water into your blender
3.Add all the ingredients
4.Blend till smooth
5.Drink immediately

b.Oatmeal banana smoothie
Ingredients
1 cup almond milk or any milk
1 ripe banana
1/3 cup oatmeal
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon almond butter
Ice cubes (optional)
Procedure
1.Add all the ingredients into the blender starting with the liquids
2.Blend till smooth
3.Drink immediately

3.Herbal Teas
They are calming and relaxing for the baby and the mother. They also boost milk production. For mums, they can help clear toxins from the body. Drink fennel tea, red raspberry leaf tea, coriander, blessed thistle and fenugreek.
Avoid peppermint tea, ginseng and lemon balm as they can hinder production of milk.

4.Infused water
This is good for quenching thirst. Check out the document on infused waters and my YouTube channel for more details.

5.Water
This is the most important fluid for both the mother and the baby. According to research, 88% of milk is made up water. Drink up to 13 cups of water daily.

6.Almond milk
Some babies react to dairy products. Hence, there should be care taken. The best alternative is almond milk.

7.Fruits
All fruits are good, but to increase milk production, increase intake of the following fruits.
a. Oranges
They have vitamin c which is good for teeth and muscle in children. For mums, they are good for tissue growth and repair. Take at least 2 oranges per day.
b. Papaya/Pawpaw
This is good in inducing milk production
c. Blue berries
They are rich in antioxidants and good for anti-aging. They also prevent diseases in infants.
d. Strawberries
They are rich in vitamin C and have high water content. They are good for dehydration.
e. Bananas
They are good for potassium. This is good for the baby and the mother.
f. Avocadoes
They are good for potassium more than bananas. They have good protein which is good for the mother and the baby. They also contain amino acids.
g. Cantaloupe
This is a good source of Vitamin C. They have high water content hence good for hydration.
h. Apricots
They boost oestrogen levels and regulate milk production in the mother. Being full of calcium, potassium, vitamin A and Vitamin C, they are hence good for the mother and the baby.
